Use of FSC and PEFC certified paper has exploded over the past few years, nearly becoming an industry standard. Paper used in PEFC and FSC certified products come from well-managed, controlled, audited and certified forests, and don’t contribute to deforestation.
What is it?
FSC is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide.
The Forest Stewardship Council promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests.
PEFC Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes is the world’s largest forest certification system. Their standards seek to transform the way forests are managed globally – and locally – to ensure that everyone can enjoy the environmental, social and economic benefits that forests offer.
Benefits of using FCE and PEFC certified printing collateral
There is growing recognition that certified products are making a difference – according to the 2014 PEFC Global Consumer Survey more than 80% of consumers globally want companies sourcing certified material from sustainably managed forests to visibly utilise certification labels – meaning that non-certified products will be less and less accepted by end-users.
